Syd Mead, the award-winning designer, illustrator and concept artist linked to numerous science fiction films such as Blade Runner, Alien, and Tron, has died at the age of 86. Syd recently provided concept art and designs for the likes of Neill Blomkamp's Elysium and Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049. Mead also notably provided designs for the anime Turn A Gundam and Yamato 2520.
