TV writer, producer Allan Manings dies

Hollywood Reporter: Allan Manings, who created the CBS sitcom "One Day at a Time" with his late wife, actress Whitney Blake, died May 11 of a heart attack in Beverly Hills. He was 86.

Manings, who recently underwent surgery for esophageal cancer, died after going into cardiac arrest at his oncologist's office, his stepdaughter, actress Meredith Baxter, told the Los Angeles Times.
