As Paramount's 'Footloose' reboot is facing obstacles in their sudden change in directors, a group of 54 independent filmmakers from around the world are ready to release their own shot-by-shot remake this Summer.
The 1980s produced so many classic dance films, not to mention its signature dance moves. We've compiled a list of favorite dance movies from the 80s that are sure to dance your socks off.
Player Affinity writes: Many regard the 1980s as the best-ever decade in the history of popular music, and with legendary albums from Michael Jackson, Madonna and Janet Jackson among others, it’s hard to disagree. Alongside those seminal artists, the soundtrack to the 1984 film Footloose made a huge impression that same decade.
CB: There comes a point in every musical or dance film in which the viewer must decide whether or not to just go with it. He or she must choose to jump to the left and step to the right, or turn a nose up at the whole thing. There’s really no in-between. Footloose is a ridiculous movie. At times, it’s even absurd. It asks and requires a lot of its audience, but those willing to kick off their Sunday shoes will be rewarded with a surprisingly good movie polished and bedazzled to the nines.
