The movie, Bloodshot, is based on the popular Valiant Comics series which debuted in February 1993. The title character is part of a super soldier project. These super soldiers get their power from nanite, which is introduced into their blood, and they possess an assortment of special powers, including the ability to heal themselves. Sony Pictures and Valiant Entertainment procured a 5-picture contract, with Bloodshot to be followed by a Harbinger movie which will include the Bloodshot character. The intention is to create a whole new universe to house these Valiant heroes to interact with each other in, much like the popular Marvel characters co-exist in their own universe. It sounds like a good formula for a box office hit, but often a movie is judged by the actor or actress in the title role; with Sony Pictures looking at Vin Diesel to bring Bloodshot to life, it appears he may have that honor.
