Tyler Hoechlin recently made his debut appearance on the CW’s Supergirl as Superman. His two appearances have gone over so well that there is already talk of a possible Superman TV series with Hoechlin in the title role. This reaction is drastically different than the polarizing response Henry Cavill got for portraying the hero from Krypton in the DCEU theatrical films. Hmmm.... No. First off, because you like one direction over another doesn't mean the other actor is a failure. Henry's Superman was much darker but that wasn't Henry's choice. #3 is a bit confusing. Tyler is like Christopher Reeve which is a plus for Tyler but that doesn't mean Henry should try to be like Christopher aswell so fail?!? <_>
I kinda agree with #4. Snyder's a good idea man but he has a problem with subtlety and isn't good at putting the ideas into one cohesive narrative. All of Henry's shortcomings come from Snyder and his limited abilities. If you watch Henry in interviews, he laughs, he smiles, he's incredibly charming and charismatic. Completely different than the much more serious character he plays as Superman. I'd blame that on Snyder's direction and not on Henry.
As for differences between his Clark an Superman. I've never found them necessary. A spy doesn't walk around mumbling and being a total klutz. To blend into society in plain sight one must act, well, normal. Subtlety is key. Not drawing attention to oneself. I don't have a problem with what Donner and Reeves' did. In fact I loved it. It's always fun to see Christopher do that bit. But to call it a must have is a bit absurd.
I do like him. He's a great actor but I don't know how he would do in a big feature movie. He would probably do just fine.

I'm not a huge fan of Henry Cavill. He looks the part but that's about it. I don't think Zack Snyder was the best man to direct Superman either.
