For all of the struggles the DC comic book movie franchises have endured over the years - with resurrections almost as appropriate a word as reboots - their occasional failings have never been down to a problem with the source. The comic books represent an embarrassment of riches, particularly in terms of characters, which has opened out scope for some truly memorable performances.
