TRR: Directed by J Blakeson and adapted by Susannah Grant, Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner from author Rick Yancey's book of the same name, The 5th Wave initially positions itself as something of a cross between Independence Day and The Road. However, its semi-unique tone soon gives way to something much more familiar: just another cookie-cutter teen thriller, with characters and situations copy-and-pasted from the book-to-film adaptations that have come before. The worst parts of the movie are undoubtedly any sections concerning the romance that inevitably blooms between its two lead characters (Chloe Grace Moretz and Alex Roe), as such scenes are handled so badly that it will leave audiences giggling rather than swooning.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
