IGN: "A Reckoning" picked up on the events of last week -- in which Ethan worked to track down the town terrorists -- as he seemingly came to the conclusion that he had to reckon former lover Kate in order to save the town. As he marched Kate up to the platform in the town square, asking cheering residents if that's what they really wanted, we knew it wasn't actually going to happen. Especially when the scene cut to the opening credits. Sure, the moment was intended to build suspense, but it backfired by ruining the much more interesting suspense halfway through the episode, when the First Generation bombarded the sheriff's office. We knew, thanks to that flash-forward, that Kate was going to make it out of the situation alive, making Harold the biggest loss of that entire execution.
