IGN: Prior to Game of Thrones, medieval action-adventure movies didn't get much play on the big screen, but lately it seems like every studio wants a piece of the dark fantasy pie. And while director Kazuaki Kiriya's Last Knights isn't exactly fantasy, it's packed with all the typical genre conventions: knights, kings, castles, betrayal and bloodshed. However, those things don't necessarily make a good movie, as we've seen from other fantasy pics like Seventh Son and 47 Ronin. Unfortunately, Last Knights doesn't quite rise to the challenge, despite good leads in Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman.
