IGN:
Everyone’s on the move in the first season finale of The Strain but their circumstances stay the same, for the most part. Abraham, Eph and company launch a second assault on the Master with similar results, Gus finds out about the vampires that whisked him away from the ports and Palmer still pines to join the cool kids. In the end, “The Master” winds up as another uneven episode in a season full of them.
The most interesting material of the finale was the introduction of the Ancients by the commando vampire (the books may have named him but we’re only concerned with the TV series here and they haven’t gotten around to it). We find out that the Master has been going rogue with all this recent activity, violating a long-standing truce. I really like the idea of Gus joining them and going on the offensive but, like most things, that will have to wait until the second season.
Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal Review: The Netflix documentary explores the rise and fall of the adulterous affairs dating site, and the repercussions on its users.
TNS: "Despite years of mindless cash-ins and unimaginative copy-paste borefests, video game adaptations have finally turned a corner! Here are the best of the best."
The Nerd Stash: "Saddle your dragons, dear viewers, because House of the Dragon has unveiled a brand-new trailer for its second season, which is coming soon."
I thought it was pretty good for a finale because it did leave us with the news of the Ancients and therefore we know that they don't want the Master loose.
