While a lesser known film, “Mommy” has received tons of praise, shown at around dozen different film festivals, including Toronto International, Karlovy Vary and Cannes. It won a number of awards and was called a “modern masterpiece”, telling the tale of a widowed single mother who is raising her violent son, trying to find new hope, which she finds in a mysterious neighbor who inserts herself into their household.
