CB: In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie plays The Falcon. In an appearance on Huffington Post Live, Mackie described being cast in the film as a “monumental moment” in his career.
“When Marvel gave me the opportunity to bring this character to life, I was so emotional and overjoyed at the opportunity of being a part of not only a franchise like that, but a studio like that,” said Mackie.

Yeah but after all the things he's acted in theres no way he's the right fit for the Human Torch.

lol...really.
If the Human Torch is white, then he's white. If there was a comic on an alternative universe version of the Human Torch where he's black like Nicky Fury then fair enough but if it hasn't been done why not stick to the source material.
It's not just that though, the whole "black/white" thing is the last issue people have with the casting. The guy directing it only cast him because he was in Chronicle...he didn't actually pick him if he can play the part or looks the part.
The thing is though Anthony doesn't get is that him as the Falcon...it works. The Falcon is black in the comics, they got him, a black actor to play the part....it's good casting.
If Falcon was going to be in a Marvel film for the first time and he was going to be played by a white actor...I'd be just as ticked off.
Why he should even defend this is beyond reasoning.
It's funny, I never knew the Fantastic Four had such a diehard fanbase. For years Fox did nothing with this property, it wasn't until they finally started to develop it that the fanbase became so vocal. Can we not just be happy that they are finally doing something with the property?
I wouldn't mind if he was black as long as his SISTER was black too. This whole adoption thing is just kinda weird...
The funny thing about this whole situation is if Spawn or Blade were to become white everybody would be a racist if they accepted that decision but nobody is allowed to complain when a white guy turns black and they fail to turn his sister black and they destroy the fact that she's actually his sister. Now he's an adopted kid (probably a rapper from the ghetto) dealin with his white sister. Cue ethnic differences as they adapt to accept each other for what they are....Wow...This gets worse the more I think about it.
That said I also take issue with Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. I mean you might as well cast Topher Grace! No, Jamie isn't a bad actor but nothing about him says he's tough. I suppose it doesn't technically matter since he'll be a rock formation 15 minutes in but still...MICHAEL CERA WILL BE DOOM!!!
Don't much care who plays Reed since he's supposed to be a stiff character (rubbery texture aside) so it's all fine there.
That said, being the fool that I am I will end up watching this movie in hopes that they don't screw it up as badly as they did the previous 2 (Alba's "acting" was horrid) even though it isn't lookin too good.
Comics are for children.
