You just all witnessed the REAL Micheal Bay.

He didn't blow up, he just got flustered and couldn't recover.

It's hard for most people to speak in front of large numbers of people. If you are prepared to speak using the teleprompter and then it screws up I'm sure it can be hard to regain your bearings.

Because some people just get stage fright and shutdown mentally. It's happened to me a few times, but at times like this you have to try to improvise and make the best of it.

hes a director not a stage actor and not a public speaker. hes behind the camera in control all the time, something like this feels like a total loss of control and he was most likely very nervous already. hes a person like everyone else not a nerves of steel performing artist.

Nah I agree with zerocrossing, if he REALLY had something meaningful to say, he'd say it. The fact that he relied on a teleprompter suggests disingenuousness and pre-packaged, wishy-washy promotional speak.

I mean it's Michael Bay for chrissakes, this certainly isn't the first time he's appeared at something like this. He's a major filmmaker, and he certainly doesn't strike me as lacking confidence or charisma.

I understand that just coming out and saying what you want to say on a stage in front of a lot of people can be daunting and can impact on your delivery, but not only is this Michael Bay we're talking about, to say what we was trying to say up there certainly wouldn't have required much rehearsal.

This is a man fully immersed in the corporate side of film, don't expect a lot of sincerity or genuineness. It's all advertisement round these parts.
