Universal Pictures has set a prime summer release date for the comedy sequel Ted 2. While an April 2015 release date had been bandied about, Universal announced today that the follow-up will officially open in theaters on June 26, 2015. The film currently has that weekend all to itself, but the following 4th of July weekend will see the Terminator reboot and Independence Day 2 hit theaters. Seth MacFarlane returns to co-write, direct, and star in Ted 2 along with Mark Wahlberg, but plot details are pretty much non-existent at this point. Ted scribes Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild also return to pen the screenplay.

i dont know why it took so long for them to greenlight the sequel, the first film was so funny and i think it was mark wahlbergs most funniest film to date. i just am not sure how they will continue the story or if ever they can come up with a witty plot.
