Jeremy of We Got This Covered wrote, "Marc Forster’s long-delayed big budget adaptation of the hit novel World War Z isn’t the film we were all expecting to hate on, yet it still barely gets by as a PG-13 generic zombie film with some decent thrills and action. Brad Pitt carries what would have otherwise been a complete disaster of a film, due to his on-screen charisma and likability to carry a film of this caliber across the finish line. World War Z isn’t a great film by any means, but it is a surprisingly decent one, thanks to Forster’s endless budget, which allows this to be the biggest-looking zombie film yet. World War Z is a globe-trotting action film, with zombies playing more of a visual role than a physical one and for that it’s still worth checking out."
