It has officially been reported that director James Cameron’s “Avatar” sequels will span three films instead of the previously confirmed two, meaning that “Avatar” is set to become a quadrilogy (four films). While it does come as a surprise it makes sense, considering that the first film is the highest-grossing film of all time, earning over $2.5 billion at the box office. With only 16 films ever to pass the $1 billion mark, it is quite the feat. Also, lets not forget that James Cameron’s “Titanic” comes in at number two on the highest-grossing films list, earning $2.1 billion at the box office.
