THR:
Paramount Home Media Distribution’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation reported for duty in style the week ended Aug. 4, checking in atop all three major home entertainment charts after its debut week on DVD and Blu-ray.
Retaliation, the follow-up to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, easily topped the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart — which tracks overall disc sales, DVD and Blu-ray combined — by a wide margin. The No. 2 title, Warner’s direct-to-video superhero flick Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, sold just 13 percent as many copies as the G.I. Joe sequel.
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.
Despite the lack of updates from Marvel Studios and Disney, Shang-Chi star Simu Liu says the sequel to the successful 2021 movie is still happening.
Based on the wildly popular 1988 comic book one-shot by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland, the anticipation soared for Batman: The Killing Joke movie. But why didn't it deliver in the end?
