Iron Man No More – Gwyneth Paltrow Says There Won’t Be A Part Four

From Bleeding Cool:

My good friend Kevin McCarthy sat down to speak with the stars of Iron Man 3 at the US junket last weekend, and while there’s a lot of highpoints in his video package – including an awkward bit about Gwyneth Paltrow‘s boobs and Robert Downey Jr. admitting to nerd tears – there’s also a very surprising bit of news.

As big as Iron Man has been for Marvel, this wouldn't surprise me in the least. This way they'd be able to focus on other heroes, giving them movies, and then can save RDJ for cameos and The Avengers sequels. Then he'd be free to do different movies (as he wants to do) but still be a part of the MCU.

TheHergulaX4019d ago

I fully agree, Iron Man trilogy is complete, no need for a fourth movie, yet he should appear is the avengers.

alycakes4019d ago

He'll be in the Avengers....won't he? I thought he's already signed up for at least that. It would be sad to see him not return for the second one.

iron man story already satisfied audiences and to a certain point is strongly established, to build more momentum for more avengers films the focus should be passed on to other superheroes as well. i also think captain america and thor would likely take a time off once a trilogy is established.

RetrospectRealm4020d ago

Iron Man 3 better be freaking amazing then.

TheHergulaX4019d ago (Edited 4019d ago )

NO SPOILERS: Saw it yesterday; it is surprisingly well produced and well directed, while the plot has its holes and doesn´t hold true to the comic books, it holds true to who Iron Man/Tony Stark is. Phenomenal action sequences that will surely take your breath away with an epic Score. U gonna see it?

adorie4019d ago

Going by your description, I just might see it.:)

SilentNegotiator4019d ago

How did you see it? The release is in May.

aDDicteD4019d ago (Edited 4019d ago )

@ hergula - Nice one. well it's a week away in here so still got to wait a couple more days..

@ SilentNegotiator - I think It's out now in the UK, it was stated in the article

konnerbllb4019d ago

Sorry I replied to the guy above you, can you answer my question in this thread

SilentNegotiator4019d ago

Wow, I never would have thought that the movie would launch so much earlier in the UK.

calis4019d ago

It released last week in New Zealand.

2 days ago in Australia (where I live) same with UK I think.

My five year old has seen the first two. I had to cover his eyes during certain parts but otherwise I thought it was ok to watch for him.

Is iron man 3 over the top?

RetrospectRealm4019d ago

What scenes were so bad you had to cover his eyes for? The only thing I can think of is Tony making out with the magazine girl.

konnerbllb4019d ago (Edited 4019d ago )

The only scene that comes to mind right now is IR1: the scene where the terrorists are rounding up the local men and executing them while their families watch. No way in hell is he going to watch that. One robot man shooting at another robot man however is fine with me.

calis4019d ago

There's a couple of scenes you'll probably cover his eyes based on what you said.

DarkBlood4020d ago

I guess it makes sense in a Trend fashion each hero gets a set of 3 films and 3 group films and then call it a day if thats how its going to be for Marvel

ajax174020d ago

Fine by me. As long as the 3rd one is better than Iron Man 2.

Defectiv3_Detectiv34020d ago

Good. I'd kind of like to see RDJ in a movie that isn't Sherlock Holmes or Iron Man related for a change. His talent is wasted on all this exploitation. He made his money, now he can move on.
