I've experienced my share of bugs requiring save-scumming as well, but "Bad to say the least (sic)" is too strong a statement. Also, discussions of performance generally revolve around framerate, frametime, and other metrics of execution efficiency.

both games are great and completely different. DD isnt designed around MTs, you can get everything in game, stop reading headlines and just making silly assumptions.

BG3 was actually designed around microtransactions. Game has gold, they could have sold that, but forgot to. Proof exist.

if you have issues with self control, that's your fault. don't predict your failings as someone else's. if you turned the internet off, played DD you could get passed the entire game just fine with no MT.

the keys are only 3000 gold, the appearance coupons are 5000 rift crystals

they arent selling you exclusive items.

400 hours, 235 hours, 325 hours...

I have 150 hours BG3, 90 hours DD2, 220 hours Rebirth, 130 hours Elden Ring.
All 4 games above are rpgs, and none are the other alike.
I love them all.

My order if I had to chose would be based on how fun to play, which then would be:
Rebirth
Dragons Dogma 2
Elden Ring
Baldurs Gate 3

If I instead base it on story, I go with:
Rebirth
BG3
DD2
Elden Ring

If I base on exploration:
Elden Ring
DD2
BG3
Rebirth

But the games are very different, and the amount of hours anyone put into the games doesn't change that.
