Haven't picked up the game yet, but when I do, I'll absolutely play it with Kassandra.

I'm playing as Kassandra when i get the game.

I finished the game with Alexios, then tried Kassandra till after the first island. Voice type is subjective and obviously different given the different sexes :P but on delivery of the lines Alexios is better imo, especially with monologues he knows what he's talking about, knows he's making a pun etc. while Kassandra just reads through.

Apparently the Kassandras voice actress did a great job, but considering that the bulk of the people playing the game are male and the game is trying to fulfill the fantasy of being a spartan warrior, pretty sure most people don't think of a woman when they think of a spartan.

Well, most gamers are male (not counting phone games). Males relate to males, generally speaking. Shouldn't come as a surprise. I picked Kassandra, and am happy with my choice. She is just likeable, I like her light hearted, humorous approach to most interactions. She seems like she'd be a fun person to be around. I'm not too far into the game, so this might be unfair criticism (also, I'm not sure how the game handles the other character when you pick one, maybe Kassandra turns out the same way if you pick alexios?), but Alexios just seems a bit one dimensional.

I'm not surprised.

I played as the female and I'm male. Only because I get bored of always playing male characters and i wanna change it up.

I'm assuming most gamers are males so they'll pick the male character, but I would also guess that most of the people that picked Kassandra are male as well. I don't play as female characters unless that's what's the main character is.

I went with Alexios as well.

I used to play rpgs to represent me male but in final fantasy online i met guys playing as females and said if youre gonna play hundreds of hrs do u wanna look at a muscle guy or a female from behind so long story short i use females when theres an option

While AC: Origins was packed with interesting stories, Odyssey is a generic ’Ubisoft sandbox’ in the worst sense, with hundreds of the same-looking places, dozens of ”kill-fetch” quests and almost zero motivation to grind further. Perfect review.

Honestly a but surprised too. I pretty much always play as male when given the choice but Kassandra seemed to have a way better performance from what I saw so I picked her seemed like a number of people I saw agreed with that assessment too.

Interesting, but irrelevant. Having choice in games is a great thing regardless, and I don't generally think about what other people choose when making my choice as that's between me and...no one, really. I actually generally choose the female option if there is a gender choice as I like to take what I perceive as the road less traveled. However, I generally go with the male option if there are social sim elements, especially if there are romance options, as it just feels more natural for me if I can have a straight romance with a female character, among other things.

I haven't got this game yet, but when given the in-game choice of gender, I always go with the female. There are two reasons:
1. I play games to escape and experience different realities. A different gender is always new to me.
2. If I'm playing a game for 100 hours, I'd rather enjoy the view of the back of the character.

I think Alexios looks like s spanish soccer player. I hate soccer

He is only "Surprised" because the media went on an all out bash party of Alexios(Not to mention Ubi saying Kass was cannon)...Multiple web sites tried to bash his voice actor(who wasn't even that bad) and claim Kassandra was the only way to play the game. Naturally this stupid agenda garbage failed.

Surprised that more boys play games despite what they try to shove down our throats. I know a handful of girl gamers and most fellas i know play games. My fiance thinks im a weirdo for playing them ha, but theres supposdly an even number. catch yourselves on with your made up statistics. id say even that the majority that played as the woman were men.

I feel like the story works better with Kassandra. Alexios makes for a better villian, and playing as her seems to make the story a bit more emotional.

I like Alexios. Kassandra is a bit manly tbh.

I chose Kassandra

Kassandra all the way. No regrets, great voice acting all around. Excellent game, my favorite ac to date.

I often play female protagonists but when it comes to a fairly historical game like this, with this much attention to melee violence, it just feels too much of a stretch. I went with Alexios too and thought his voice acting, while not as good as Kassandra's, was still likable and, essentially, in good humoured.

I was worried he'd be a bland, gruff, macho type but he was much more of a down-to-earth chancer. For me, it worked well.

I played both Alexios and Kas for a fair few hours each in the start because I was a little indecisive. In the end I chose Alexios, for myself the story beats and narrative changes the choice made just seemed to fit better. Plust other story elements were more interesting but will avoid for spoiler reasons. Trying to get it finished now, game is long.

Thank god we were able to choose another character with a voice nicer to listen to. Couldn't imagine the hate the game would get from some people if the only option was to play as only Alexios.

His voice personally reminded me a bit of that steel guy from the Deadpool movies.

Alexios was the better Spartan. The people have spoken.

I chose Kassandra... as did everyone else I know.

All signs point to Kassandra as a main choice.

Started out with Kassandra but soon realized the performance was done by a male and replaced with the female model which made for some awkward looking scenes. The game is my favorite AssCreed game so far

I'm not surprised. I expected it.

I played as Alexios but god did I regret it 20 hours in. He delivery is just too over the top for me. My wife even asked what's wrong with his voice and she watches me quite while I play most games.

I was surprised more didn't feel the same because for me it was laughably bad. When Kassandra finally popped up I was like should've went with her. I'm curious how Alexios's inflections and delivery are if you play as Kassandra.

Seems like they were testing the waters and played the "Whoopsie" card when enough people complained.

Not a fan of intrusive ads. If I’m annoyed, the odds of me buying said product decrease significantly. Keep games spam-free.

I'd accept games with ads if the title was heavily discounted ie 19.99 brand new Instead of 59.99

In open world games like CP 2077 and GTA I don't actually mind real world billboard ads, in fact I have used a Blade Runner ads mod for CP 2077 and it just fits. For me on billboards it's not intrusive. A bit different to what's happened here though I understand that.

This is where we're headed huh. Such a damn shame. I'd rather a can of Pepsi be laying around in a game instead of actual fking ads. This is a damn shame. This probably wasn't an accident as apposed to something accidently left they were experimenting with

Assassin's creed peaked during the Xbox 360 era, and has been yearly shovelware ever since. How the hell are they releasing a high quality, 80+ hour game every year? They aren't - the boring gameplay and lack of innovation are shining examples of this.

But regular people eat that shit up. Just like CoD. Just like FIFA. Just like every yearly release franchise. The people we are telling to vote with their wallets aren't hearing the message, because they don't care enough about the gaming industry to even notice the discourse.
