It's been four years and I still don't know what the hell Dreams is lol

Genuine-User2443d ago

"Dreams is an upcoming sandbox video game. The game puts focuses on 'play, create and share', and allows players to create user-generated content."

freshslicepizza2442d ago

Sounds quite fun in VR but because Sony does not want to totally alienate its users they will not make it VR only. Which is why PSVR will stay at being a niche product if they continue to not allow its top tiered developers to fully embrace it.

Genuine-User2441d ago (Edited 2441d ago )

You're a funny one, aren't you.

😄

DrJones2442d ago

It's basically a game maker. My most anticipated title on PS4

subtenko2442d ago

Its everything, you call it a game maker and you are missing 60% of what else it can do

Alexious2442d ago

Supposedly there's also a fully featured story campaign.

UltraNova2442d ago

From what I've seen so far if you can imagine it you can make it with Dreams. I cant wait to see what worlds the more creative amongst us make when they put some time into it.

fr0sty2442d ago

Sculpting worlds in 3D VR is something I've always wanted to do. Now my Dreams are coming true.

me too, i am still not sure what's it really about.
sounded innovative, although i thought project sparks sounded really similar.

sony is sticking with it, so let's hope it proves to be something great

Godmars2902442d ago

LBP on steroids as far as I know.

MrSec842442d ago

Well they teased something at the PS4's reveal, but they didn't officially announce Dreams until E3 2015, at that time they basically started showing what could be done with the tools they'll be delivering with the game.

Dreams is basically a suite of digital creation tools that will let anyone make anything they can think of in a digital environment, from 2D/3D Models, Animation, Movies, Music, Levels and right up to full blown Games.
Media Molecule are now focused on building the game's campaign and iterating on their tech to make it all perform at it's best.

Basically this is a title with near limitless potential with what can be made with MM's tools.

psyxon2442d ago

You probably don't pay attention to it then.

joab7772442d ago

It's just amazing to hear about this.

roadkillers2442d ago

...you get more thumbs down, but everyone in the comment section has a different definition of the game. That's logic.

Anyways I completely foegot about thos game.

2442d ago
roadkillers2441d ago

We'll wait and see. If it's a "game making game" I expect it possible for people to make a Mario replica then make a MGS replica.

I'll save my judgement until release. LBP wad touted as that. I enjoyed LBP, but it was not a "game making game".

roadkillers2441d ago

They really havent released much either. You'd think their latest demo would have come out less than a year ago..

fenome2443d ago

I think this will be awesome in VR, painting or sculpting in 3D and then animating it and bringing your art to life. I bet there's going to be some amazing user generated content for this once it finally releases.

SkippyPaccino2442d ago

Half of which will be dancing penises... What a world we live in... Lol

If it looks cool, I'll probably pick up a psvr... For educational purposes... Not penises.... I'll let myself out

fenome2442d ago

Can't go wrong with dancing penises! I'm going to try to recreate Fantasia, but instead of brooms there will be penises. Lmao

BlackTar1872442d ago

The world has changed, now danicing penises are seen as a negative.

ThinkThink2442d ago

Sometimes your penis just needs to dance.

Knushwood Butt2442d ago

There's not enough diversity in this thread.

segamaniaco2442d ago

Penises are the new thing in games

Id like a lot of vr horror experiences, please

Yui_Suzumiya2442d ago

Dancing penises aren't horrifying enough?!

Knushwood Butt2442d ago

That's being held back for the sequel:

Nightmares

toddybad2442d ago

I'll definitely begin with the idea of creating world class animations and innovative artforms. By the fourth minute my complete lack of artistic ability will beat me and I'll stick to using content created by others.

Fishy Fingers2443d ago

But can I make penis shaped rocker after penis shaped rocket?

FunAndGun2442d ago

https://www.etsy.com/listin...

pretty sure you meant rocket...but I was surprised to find a penis shaped rocker as well....

segamaniaco2442d ago

You would be banned from psn and lose your life trophies

Wallstreet372443d ago (Edited 2443d ago )

Got to love Sony. Always bringing new ips and innovating on the software front. I can't wait to play this on VR. Sony has gamers covered in every corner.

_-EDMIX-_2442d ago

They've been known to support some weird, weird games but I like them for always taking chances on something different.

I worry about Dreams as I don't know if this game will get LBP type numbers and I worry that Sony might cut this team if Dreams doesn't deliver. With such a long development and such a strange concept, I really wonder how much Sony is expecting this game to sell and I hope Media Molecule has another game in the pocket.

Knushwood Butt2442d ago

For sure

Yet all the timr, the media praises things like Mario throwing his hat to possess othher characters.

Like, that's never been done before......

Oh, bravo Nintendo, bravo. Pushing the envelope.

Embracer CEO demonstrates a masterclass in mental gymnastics in latest interview.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss5d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

jznrpg3d ago

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast5d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

gold_drake4d ago

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
