Europa May Be Our Best Chance to Find Alien Life

Ever since we took out first stumbling steps into the stars, mankind has been fascinated with the question: who else is out there? Well, NASA wants to take a shot at answering that question. Orbiting around our friendly local gas giant, Jupiter, is the ice sheathed moon of Europa.

If they are aliens what says they need the same resources we need to live ?

DarkZane2589d ago

Yes, scientists don't seem to realize that what apply to us humans is probably irrelevant to an alien race. I am pretty sure aliens might not need water or anything else we need to survive to actually survive.

Another example is absolute zero. -273C or 0 Kelvin is the temperature everything freeze and become inert. Pretty sure again that scientists only base themselves on us for this. The universe is big, there is probably things that thrive at that temperature somewhere.

That is what I am thinking...Scientist are basing all these information/findings on us and not looking past that!

I am totally with you, but then scientist don't want to overlook at it this way because if they do...it will make them irrelevant lol

0 Kelvin doesn't exist in nature, the coldest known places in the Universe are created by us in labs. Science is always looking for life outside the norms but it's better to start looking where you already know life could possibly exist, places with liquid water.

Yeah for all we know there could be intelligent life out there with entirely different biology. Perhaps there are even chlorophyll based beings out there that live off photosynthesis.

Urist2586d ago

I think part of it might be that it is just a good way to narrow down the search criteria, if we only look for what we KNOW can produce life, then we can direct our resources in less places with more chance (in theory) of finding something.
