Oh there's no debate, you get a lot of value for your money with PS4 Pro. And Scorpio I imagine will be incredible value too. Heck even Switch will be a lot of value with its current gen games on a $250 hybrid device. Not $900 value, but still a lot of bang for your buck.

But ya, I'm happy with the Pro. 4K was much needed, and it feels nice having access to something previously only available to the more elite PC gamers.

It's about a $700 PC, not $900. Maybe $650, even. Still, it's a deal at that price, given that you also don't have the hassle of knowing how to put a rig together with a PS4 Pro.

If you take a PS4 equivalent build, which we know can be built for ~$550-600, and strap another $30 of CPU muscle, and $100 of GPU muscle to it, you've got yourself a Pro equivalent.

Sounds like utter rubbish to me, and I've been building/upgrading PC's for a long time. I also know for one even the mid end i5 6600k runs circles around the PS4 Pro's CPU, never mind anything higher or even the Haswell CPU's.

Hes saying that the performance is what you would get out of a 900$ pc not the parts. You may build one for $500 but you wont get as good of performance out of it.

It's hard not to be impressed with the ps4 pro. They definitely need to iron out the early issues, as some games offer a much cleaner and impressive experience than others, but when you can offer checkerboard 4k with HDR for 400, there isn't a whole lot a reasonable person should find to complain about.

The real question is whats in that PC because I can tell you right now I have two GTX 1080's and for one of them here in Canada with taxes it's $1033.45. So have fun with that spec sheet. Must be a mid pc brand which is great for PS4 users but don't compare it to PC enthusiasts like myself, because we can squish that spec sheet apart with a couple components.

If you had to argue that based on twisted arm logic of somehow digging up trash and treasure parts and grey market steam keys you've already lost the argument. PC's are mostly better because they're more expensive, it's as simple as that. I bought a EVGA GTX1080 FTW just to play Deus Ex because I wanted the best graphics not because it was cheaper, whilst I always regard PS4 to be a better experience when you consider other factors beyond just graphics there is not one day I didn't wish they launched PS4 as a premium $599 console rather than a budget built $399 one.

This would be $650, and this is without buying a $30 crappy ass case and PSU which is just stupid, (w/o kb/m and controller however this could be ignored when you factor in PS+) and beats the PS4 Pro. IMO an extra $250 for a capable and dependable PC, makes up for the cost difference. I am simply stating estimates, at the right places you can probably save $10-20 on each of those I listed

This is coming from someone who has a gtx 1070 pc and PS4 Pro and plays the latter way more, however could not function nearly as well without my solid PC because phones/tablets at the end of the day still are not nearly as capable as a PC. $900 is a bit off for a custom built and is probably generous when in comes to prebuilt

I remember the days when most gamers and consumers were, for the most part completely ignorant to what a CPU really was, what ram was, clock speed, sprites (before polygons) and how much a processor could push, what a fps is and all the technical jargon that goes with gaming. It was always about the games over the specs first and foremost! Not sure that is the case with the majority of gamers these days. Seems a game isn't good if the written specs don't "wow" everyone before hand. Don't get me wrong, I get excited about a new console with higher specs and what it can push as well. I just think too much emphasis is put on specs over the actual games.

For some games that are optimized for the PS4Pro he is probably around the correct price range for and equivalent experience on a PC. A PS4Pro game can run at 1800p~2160p upscalled or checkerboarded at 30fps.

But the thing is a PC in that price range gives the user the option to adjust the game to suit their preferences.

Sorry what?! On the original PS4 it's 680p and 720p on pro???!!!! What the f=÷%. This should have been the 1080p minimum generation maybe doing a 2K pro model and that's it, I say that with Sony and Microsoft in mind. Now that I have finally put together a half decent pc I am enjoying 2K+ and it is exceptional. 1080p native at high details is still excellent though.
