I appreciate everyone leaving their thoughts into this article. Great discussion occurring here.

Gleason could've got a nomination for THE GUARD. A funny movie that's been getting overlooked.

DiCaprio wasn't deserving of a nomination. His performance was average at best - and the film was worse.

It doesn't surprise me that DRIVE was predictable for you ... considering your read the book. Gosling has tremendous range. His perf...

Apparently you only receive 3 comments on here. I'd love to reply to you all.

I appreciate all the discussion occurring.

It's unfortunate the Oscars did such a lackluster job this year. We could go on and on about how many actors/actresses/ and films deserved to be rewarded.

Alas, we must live with what has transpired.

On the up side ... at least picking the winners should be a tad more difficult, considering the obs...

It's getting pricy to attend the movies these days. But let me just remind you, that there're better films out there, if one decides to stray away from the mainstream.

DRIVE is absolutely mesmerizing. Be sure to pick it up when released on DVD.

We should all agree that most of us here haven't seen and or heard of "A Cat In Paris" or "Chico & Rita". That's not to say they aren't of value, it's just peculiar.

No surprise on the Pixar front.

I disagree with most to be candid.

BREAKING DAWN - at the bare minimum - satisfied its designated audience. Thus the reason I left it off.

Didn't see Chipmunks.

To just respond to the comments above. If you clicked on the link ... you'd see that I did indeed include NEW YEAR'S EVE & BREAKING DAWN on my list.

As for the other films mentioned - no, I didn't watch Season of the Witch - Drive Angry - Smurfs - Big Momma - Red Riding Hood ... For some peculiar reason ... I like to live life.

Thank you for all those who provided perceptive critical feedback. I enjoyed the first film a great deal - though I learned upon a second viewing that it looses a lot of its wits and charm.

I still hold my stance on "Game of Shadows" which simply bored me with repetitive, uneventful action sequences that are cut so fast and poorly, that you can't even tell what's occurring.

You're not alone on that regard.

Hey everyone, thanks for commenting on this post.

Just some clarification:

Your views on the directors and ultimately who you pick, is not based solely on the film mentioned on the list presented.

Take into the accounts both director's whole body of work.

To be honest, I typically do ten films ... but Fincher doesn't even have 10 pictures I could list.

Hope you all enjoyed the post. I have it every ...

Disliked this film - deliberately paced - and anyone who thinks this is remotely like Taken is off by a mile.

Not an awful picture, just exceedingly underwhelming.

I may be in the minority here, but that trailer was God awful.

"Immigrant Song" did not blend well - and the frame by frame shots were lackluster.

Not sure what the hype is about - I suspect the film will be good - but this trailer is pitiful.
