As a critic I didn't think it was a bad movie, in fact I quite loved its style mashup for what is essentially something akin to a dirty cop movie (replace magic wand with pile or cash or drugs and throw in magic and orcs/elves) it's trying to do something quite different and I applaud it for that.
Yeh thet first fight scene was quite shocking, especially if you weren't expecting that level of brutality.
Weren't a fan of the film then?

Ah nice :) such a shame it's getting a stealth release as it's quite the quality film.

It doesn't ride that line between pushing a political agenda whilst making a good movie, very well.
One suffers for the other (the latter most so). With characters that merely become props, and a series of hamfisted situations that could rival a disaster movie in terms of convolution.
