Major difference - Hunger Games has a story.
Regarding the Titanic comment "They could've both fitted on that piece of wood", as I recall, they tried. It wasn't about fitting in terms of space as much as it was about fitting in terms of weight.
Philip Seymour Hoffman (Plutarch Heavensbee) was found dead on February 2, 2014. At the time of his death, he had completed filming his scenes for Part 1, and had a week left of shooting for Part 2. Lionsgate released a statement stating that due to the majority of Hoffman’s scenes being completed, the release date for Part 2 will not be affected.
So hunger games is not much of a problem, but sad to see him go. I enjoyed his acting.
SPOILER:
Already happened when Peter Parker died in the comics.
I disagree. Season 5 and 6 weren't particularly strong (though 6 was better than 5), but Season 7 was one of the best. Season 4 would've been a terrible place to end it, and Season 5 and 6 would've just left a sour taste in everyone's mouth, had they been the final season.
2.5 million in under 24 hours.. That's impressive. I should give this series a go sometime.
It's a weak comparison.. They share characters and the world, but it's a completely different type of story. People weren't expecting that, hence why some left the theater disappointed.
"Something very wrong with that horse"
I'm liking the look of this, will probably end up seeing it.
The reviewer's complaints seem to be
- Frodo being there
- Use of CG
Whilst I can understand his problems with the second, Frodo is there for a very good reason - he serves as a connection from the original trilogy to the Hobbit, and brings fans of The Lord of the Rings right back into Middle Earth.
@TenkoTAiLS
The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Appendices. In addition to that, some gaps have been filled in by Peter Jackson himself in collaboration with Tolkien's grandsons.
Finally, you should remember that these books include details on major battles, which are also represented in the films. The Battle for Helms Deep took up a major part of the movie, where as it was only a few pages in the book.
@Crazay
"The Hobbit" films are based on 3 books, not just on the Hobbit ;)
Can't wait for this! Booked tickets for the 3D showing in Imax the sunday after release. Just two more weeks :|
Right in time as well, end of the world is approaching!
Problem with actors like him pursuing more serious roles is that society sees him as Mr. Bean, just like society sees Sasha Cohen as Borat. It'll be difficult to take people like him seriously due to the roles they had in the past.
It is, yet it is also the stance he and many other Star Wars fans take.
Exactly.. Friends of mine are already claiming the films will suck, so with opinions like that formed before production has even started on the films it becomes a very risky project to take on for any director.
I don't think the universe really suits Nolan's style, it just wouldn't blend well. Disney's got some solid directors they could make use of though.
3 part, so it'll be over 7 hours :)
It uses materials from the Lord of the Rings Appendices, The Hobbit and the Similarion
" not go out of your way to alienate or infuriate someone in the name of 'art'"
Have you seen the video? It isn't art. It's a parody.
How does the video alienate people? Similar videos can be found everywhere about Christianity, Jews and other religions. The only reason those videos don't get as much exposure as this one did is because other people just move on with their lives.
I'd say you're alienating ...
She did appear in the Appendices and the Similarion, so she wasn't exactly shoehorned in by Jackson, so she wouldn't count as a character that didn't appear in any of the books
Then why read articles about it?
