It's a kids movie. About toys.
I really don't think arguing that the 3rd movie should have ended in death is worth the oxygen.
They had to turn all whore before Disney came around, selling long exclusive contracts for their IPs.
I mean, selling yourself to Disney is the ultimate self-whoring, but at least that ends up more like "Pretty Woman" than street hooker.

Aww crap, too late.
"Bu-but you can go to walmart and immediately walk out with a fully automatic weapon! That's how gun ownership works in Colorado....my cousin totally lives there and told me that!"
-Uneducated anti-gun advocate
"bu-but you can buy fully automatic weapons at conventions!"
.
Or buy one from the government, during a failure trafficking operation. Illegal sales won't go away just because you take away guns from the la...
Hint: 2 counties with no personal gun ownership, 2 with very restrictive ownership, and 1 with an administration that cares more about impressing the Europeans - an administration that gave weapons to drug cartels - are all working on an Arms "trade" treaty......
Wouldn't it be so convenient if a major, random attack happened a week or so before that treaty's contents were revealed?
The previously mentioned administration already signed ACTA...
I'd rather a story where his crotch plate gets stuck on and he really has to urinate.
That's a real shame. I really like Spiderman and seeing his IP being pulled in so many directions is unfortunate.
@hk
I guess its a lot of hindsight. Still, for them to have not seen the potential...well, that's just sad. And now they're in deep.
The film rights issue with Spiderman is stupid. Spiderman belongs to Marvel, not Sony. Marvel must have really screwed up with the contract terms if they're still afraid to use Spiderman in things that aren't Spiderman-centric, and over a decade later from the first film, to boot.
"Would bring more ethnicity to the roster"
-
A failed way of thinking. Forcing ethnic diversity is getting ridiculous in our society....people even think we have...
Hopefully Iron Man 3 is....good.
2 was so utterly meh.
Exactly the sort of movie that makes me stop and say "Why would THAT movie need a remake"?
It looks okay, but....why? The movie isn't all that old and the original holds up just fine today.
My 'an idiot' did what?
I'm sorry my 'an idiot' upset you. Because clearly, **you're** a very intelligent person yourself.
I point out the fact that Seth's solo work is CLEARLY mediocre, and you guys attack my intelligence. My, isn't that sad.
"He can act, direct, voice act, write and sing for godsakes"
-
First of all, going by his solo work, no, he cannot write. And that was my ONLY point. I don't care if he can voice act or sing. And I certainly don't care if he can direct something like family guy....it's not like anything outrageous happens fr...
The story is by Seth MacFarlane, and not the (funny) Family Guy writers.
So let's see.....Seth's funniest solo work....the "Oh Reginald" joke that he has milked his entire career, a Scotsman whining on a couch, and that Star Trek parody.
Probably crap.
"Oh look, a teddy bear doing naughty things! Hurr hurr hurr hurr"
Oh no, I agree. He's great. I'm just so fond of Malcolm in the Middle and his character of that show.
I'm an idiot, but I can't help but giggle every time I see a bald 'Hal' that cooks meth.
Throwing away the Superman-Lois dynamic was silly, to say the least. I guess no one was told how central that is to the Superman universe.
Superman Returns was OKAY....but only okay.
I nearly cried when I heard they were using the Kryptonians as the bad guys again. It's the age of CGI and it would be nice to finally see something that they couldn't have done in the original film. There are plenty of large, less-human enemies for Superman to go up a...
"Well...technically you always pay to see an incomplete movie. You know that the director's cut is always going to be longer and have scenes in it that weren't in the theater shown version"
Umm, no. I don't expect them to change the movie mid-theater release. I expect them to make minor changes for the DVD/Blu-ray and have the cut content in special features, but not this. When it changes for the DVD release, it's extra-incentive to own it. When ...
You're insulting fans of a franchise for being disappointed with a film.
WHO needs to get a life?
Nolan also allowed the reality of Joker's "One bad day" speech from "The Killing Joke" to be REVERSED.
Drag Nolan away from the DC universe, I say. I can't believe he's doing Man of Steel, too, another reboot.....I wonder who the enemy will be in that one?!?! Of course, the same kryptonians that were the bad guys in like, 3 other films. Some of the most dull, un-eccentric mainstream Superman villains.
Maybe if he directs a J...
That and I hope they don't keep it too grounded. I was disappointed that Superman Man of Steel was starting from the beginning AGAIN, and facing Superman against Kryptonians AGAIN. We don't need the biggest characters RE-explained from origin. And it would be nice if Superman fought something in-human for once. This is the CGI-age for film's sake - a break from the Kryptonians is more viable and would be nice to see here in the 21st century.
