Avengers Initiation kicked off, Chitauri invaiding armada destroyed, New York in crumbles, Loki and Thor sent back to Asgard (and things happened in Thor The Dark World), and the Avengers disband (which they're joining up again after some time). Then things happened in the Phase 2 movies.
This is like the comics. You gotta watch the other character specific movies in between Avengers to truly get the story.

The movie's story is different from the cartoons makes the movie lame? It's the classic Gwen Stacy story in the comics 40 years ago. I think she was in the 90s cartoon too, but MJ was the main girl in it.
You should get to reading it. It's a great story... Until the story about her being cloned and how she was getting funky with Norman Osborn. Ugh. You know what, don't even bother. It's confusing.

Jackman's still young. A few years younger than RDJ. If he gets replace in X:Men Apocalypse or the X-Force movie, I'd like to see him come back someday in an Old Man Logan movie.
The prequels were successful. Financially, it made over $2B total in box office sales, whereas the original trilogy only made over $1B. Critically, EP I and II did 57% and 67% respectively, but EP III did 80%, 2% more than EP VI's 78%.
I can still see Ep VII making $1B. By the time the movie is out, it would have been over a decade since Ep III Revenge of the Sith came out. And this movie takes place decades after Return of the Jedi. It's going to be hyped as heck.

James Bond and Spider-Man are Sony's biggest movie franchises. These two movies make huge money. I highly doubt Sony will sell Spidey back to Marvel.
Only a few X-Men have been Avengers. Beast was the first, in the 70s. Wolverine didn't even get in until New Avengers in 2005. Then Storm and Rogue. If you count X-Men villains, then Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were the first X-Men to join, in the 60s.

Everyone saying the Spidey, FF, and X-Men should go back to Marvel are only saying it for Avengers, and not for the individual movies. Iron Man 2 and 3 were average movies, even under Marvel. Thor and The Dark World also had their fair share of problems. Spider-Man 1 and 2, and X-Men and X2 were fantastic movies under Sony and Fox respectively. SM3 and X-Men Origins Wolverine were bad, but I thought ASM1 and X-Men First Class were average and great. Now that the Avengers has been made, it see...

So is Negan finally going to appear in Season 5? I just finished Season 3 on Netflix. S5 will most likely be done airing by the time S4 is up on Netflix.

Is TASM videogame canon to the movie? They have different Rhinos, so maybe they got rid of the tie-in with TASM2? If you've seen the trailer for TASM videogame, you can clearly see Cletus Cassidy and the red symbiotes attaching to his arm.
First Class, Origins, the original trilogy, The Wolverine, and the future scenes in DOFP are the old timeline. FC and the past scenes in DOFP, and soon Apocalypse, are the new "reboot" timeline.
In this new timeline, Scott and Jean are still in their teens, and there are probably only a few mutants recruited so far. Definitely too early to take on Apocalypse in this new timeline. But then again, they did manage to kill Azazel and control the Sentinels also this earl...
