This is most definitely the current gen version and I'm not impresse the combat look and feel like Oddsessy and nothing stand out.

More of the same. Voice acting sounded stale. I won’t hold my breath for more than a fun parkour experience. Story has always been convoluted/disjointed to me so I won’t expect this one to fix that either. Also, screen was covered in HUDs, breaks immersion almost as much as “spartan kicking” a dude 2-3X your characters size 20ft across the screen. Nothing about this looks next-gen, physics-wise or in combat animation which also disappoints coming from one of the largest developers and IPs out there. Hoping this was footage much earlier build myself.

I didn't played any AC game since 2nd one and this leak might make it stays that way.
Repetitiveness has always been this series worst enemy and it seems to continue.

This looks so much like a PS4 game ... just like AC Odyssey. Had higher expectations after how much Ubisoft hyped this game up. The graphics (especially the characters) and animations look so much worse than a last gen title like the Witcher 3... Killed my hype pretty much

this is a waste, they ain't doing nothing new at all. it looks like the last 2 AC game, but with a different character and setting. Cross this off my game list.

after watching it, I must say I'm really disappointed at it, viking theme.....how original. At least with Origins and Odyssey were historical accurate and had infraestructures to do the parkour.
This version is more like medivalish style with "vikings". I know they are using the same engine from tjhe last 2 games so Im not surprised but this viking theme is a bad idea.

after playing Horizon and finishing the game last night this looks like trash. AC games should be gorgeous with long draw distances after this many titles. This looks no better than Black flag at the best.

It's impossible to accurately assess the visual quality of the game because the quality of this video is awful.

Maybe put this baby back in the oven to bake more? Combat looks awful. That hack n slash with the wolf was just terrible.

We know what to expect gameplay wise but by God it better look better than that at launch.

The story is what drives AC games. It’s pretty similar from gameplay of the last 2 and that’s cool I guess. I’m just looking forward to the story and building up new lands as we raid the Anglo saxsons

Origins was kinda fun. Odyssey was long and boring. So I'm gonna guess this one will be garbage.

I'm fine with the last few games. They just need to tighten up the experience a bit. It shouldn't be 20 hours with just main story but 100 with side content. In my opinion the thing that needs the most fixing is the current/future timeline. Embrace it fully or just get rid of it completely.

I’m always skeptical of leaks or rumors until I actually know of an official showing or announcement.

Uhh is it just me or did A.C. Unity look more next gen than this? What is going on at ubisoft why do all games look alike now? To me ubisoft games look a gen behind every new gen. (I never hate on ubisoft but this is just odd. I miss playing as an actual hooded assassin not the ryse son of witcher type of ac games)

Let’s see how things will unfold, but I believe that the choice of Viking era is not a good one.

Origins and Odyssey have provided access to the long awaited time period requested by fans ( Egypt and Antique Greece) and going back to middle age is itself a disappointment.

I think somewhere like Inca or Maya period would have been a better and more ambitious move.
Maybe something related to voodoo cult or Slave trade period may be more appealing history wise, but maybe it is difficult to use this periods without any risk of ethical backlash in current days.

The combat doesn't look bad in this game, but I find it funny that the main female character looks a lot like Pink. Is she going to say, raise your glass?

I'm going to play it, but I hate the way he/she dodges. It looks similar to Origins, I couldn't stand it, and looks like I'm going to have to put up with it in Valhalla.

Once again game journos hate long games, it makes the job that they already don't know how to do that much harder. They need to be more concerned about reviewing products, obviously. And once again again, people have different tastes. There are plenty of short games out there too, play those instead of trying to change the long games that people love. Finally, the age thing is stupid, "I can't read a book longer than 25 pages, these days. The thought of putting something down and returning to it is madness."

While it can be true that ‘less is more’, I love huge open-world games like the Horizon games and the recent Assassin Creed games (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla). To each their own I say.

I think it's fitting that a pic of Valhalla accompanies this article, that was chock full of filler content that got so boring after a while. I had progressed the story to a point and required to do another questline....by the time i could continue the main story it was 20 hours later and id lost interest / almost forgotten what was happening. that was a real struggle and a great example of an open world gone too big and repetitive stuff chucked in.....i struggled through to get the plat but its put me off any more AC games - that was 130 odd hours ill never get back

whereas BG3 (i know its not open world as such) i spent roughly 350 hours on that and loved every single minute....still got to go back to do my honour run, but it just shows, if a company puts effort in to side quests etc and not just copy and paste filler content over the map it really does show.

EDIT: just saw a comment below about far cry in the same camp and have to agree this is another classic example.....started off okay but then the same old capture this base, go there, go here, get this crate....rinse and repeat - turned it off after 20 hours and deleted it - these companies chuck Far Cry or Assassins Creed on the title and release boring rubbish with copy and paste missions all across the map

If you can make your side quests & content as interesting and well crafted as Witcher 3 then its not a big issue. I'm not a fan of large open world games just due to the dedicated time sink. Witcher 3 however kept me hooked because at no moment did I feel like I was just doing a simple side quests that was simply tacked on. It all felt like it carried some kind of weight to it. Not just bring object A to point B.

Its part of the reason why I'm losing interest in modern games. Instead of increasing the QUALITY, they are instead increasing the QUANTITY, but the issue is that all they're doing is shoving more mediocre, boring slog, repetitive grindy trash down our throats.

A 10 hour masterpiece that doesn't get stale by the end has more replay value and is more worthy of my money, and more importantly worthy of my lifespan, than a 100 hour filler Ubi-junk game. I was a big Assassin's Creed fan in the past. I enjoyed the 5 game Desmond story arch, but after that the series really started to lose its way.

Throwaway plots, too many side quests that are copy & paste, combat mechanics didn't improve. Time went on, and Ubi-junk just kept piling more crap on top of the heap, trying to win gamers over by 'sheer value'. However there is no value in filler content.

By the time Origins came out, it was clear that the whole game was all filler no killer. Randomized gear chests, massive skill trees, regions locked by level gating. Copy & paste everything everywhere over a massive map that was too big for its own good. I played Odyssey (for free), it was literally the same game, except everything was expended by double or triple. Yeesh, I had enough. Never played Valhalla, and Ubi-junk would have to pay me to play their filler games.

I'll conclude with this: Give me a game that has 10 interesting and fun side quests, over a game that has 100 boring repetitive side quests.
