Ever since "Sin City" proved to be a robust hit on its release in April 2005, talk has percolated about a sequel. After all, the film was relatively inexpensive to make, and there were plenty more stories from Frank Miller's source material comics that could lead to another film. But between the ups and downs of the Weinstein Brothers' Dimension Films, the busy-ness of co-director Robert Rodriguez, and the difficulty of re-assembling the all-star cast, it was much-discussed, but never quite came together.

I think we already knew Jessica Alba was coming back for this one. but they hadn't mentioned a release date yet and I'm not sure they had said it was going to be in 3D.
