With production now finished on the third instalment of the Riddick franchise, which marks writer-director David Twohy’s return to work with the brilliant Vin Diesel, who stars as the eponymous Riddick, Diesel has announced that the film is now looking more likely to be released in 2013 than the 2012 he’d been hoping for.
Continuing his usual track of giving us all the details via his own Facebook page, Diesel had the following to say, which includes a great possibility to make up for the later release:

I'm pretty excited for the next movie. I thought Chronicles of Riddick was pretty sweet. Granted it wasn't as cool as Pitch Black but it wove a pretty sweet tapestry of a sci-fi universe franchise which i think is sadly lacking these days. i say bring on the next 2 movies ASAP.
