Florence & The Machine's "Breath Of Life" From The 'Snow White & The Huntsman' Soundtrack

Stereogum:
The forthcoming summer movie Snow White And The Huntsman looks weirdly, surprisingly great: Lush visuals, evil cackling Charlize Theron, excessive amounts of death. And as it turns out, the movie has another thing going for it: An new operatic wailer from Florence & The Machine. “Breath Of Life,” if it’s over the end credits, will almost certainly sound pretty great.

This sounds great...hope the rest of the movie has a musical score that can match up to this.

10 Films Make Oscar Shortlist for Best Visual Effects

Collider:
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled its shortlist of 10 films that will contend for the Best Visual Effects Oscar. The films that have made the cut include The Dark Knight Rises, Cloud Atlas, Skyfall, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Disney’s John Carter. The list is full of impressive blockbuster fare from 2012, but as we were reminded last year (Hugo over Rise of the Planet of the Apes) the winner of the category tends to favor a Best Picture nominee. As Ang Lee’s adaptation of Life of Pi includes stunning visual effects and is an early favorite to land a Best Picture nomination, prognosticators would do well to keep their eye on that film as the race moves forward. That said, there’s not exactly a lack of great work to thumb through, so this should be an interesting category.

I have a feeling that either batman, the hobbit, avengers or skyfall will win this. I would say spidy and prometheus aswell but their effects felt somewhat dated... or maybe its just me.

All of them had great visual effects but only one can win. I wish them all the best.

From what I've seen I think The Avengers DESERVES it, and Spider-Man had insane first person scenes that make it worthwhile as well. However being the Oscars, the award will probably go to Batman since Nolan is attached to it. or The Hobbit, you never know though since its so close to the end of the year.

Avengers based on what I've seen so far.

Snow White and the Huntsman Blu-ray Review - WGTC

Jeremy of We Got This Covered wrote, "Almost nothing is sacred these days, meaning every childhood story is eventually going to get a gritty retelling for the silver screen. Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman is what happens when a big studio like Universal sinks hundreds of millions of dollars into a hopeful franchise-starter, while casting an array of Hollywood’s biggest (Hemsworth) and sexiest (Theron) and Kristen Stewart (dumbest?). The three actors approach Sanders’ film with three different interpretations of the common tale and the result is mostly a bloated mess that’s 30 minutes too long and lacking an actual ending."
