The Daily Rotation - God Bless America Review

Sean of The Daily Rotation wrote, "After making his best film with World’s Greatest Dad, Bobcat Goldthwait became known to movie fans worldwide beyond his cult following for his stand up, his appearances in various movies over the years, and films like Shakes the Clown and Windy City Heat. With Robin Williams starring, Goldthwait shocked many older fans of the actor that thought it was going to be a light comedy, not a farce about a teen’s death from auto-erotic asphyxiation. Now, with God Bless America, he has dropped any pretense at niceties toward the general population, calling America out for its absurd fascination with bad behavior and the perversion of morality via reality television."

Entering the Netflix Stream: August 2012

Nicholas of Movies Hate You Too writes:

When it comes to Netflix Streaming it really feels like it’s feast or famine. Some months are great, others not so much. For August I’m leaning towards the latter, which is partially why this Netflix post is coming so late in the month. For August there are a couple decent new releases but they’re a little more art house than what most people are interested in. Otherwise there are some decent horror films (Halloween is just around the corner), 80s fans will find a couple entertaining one offs, Taco Bell is well represented in the 90s, and a couple new shows found their way into the stream. Overall its not a great month but who knows… maybe September will be gangbusters.

Must See: God Bless America

GTMAM writes:
Today we highlight God Bless America, a crucial Must See film for any moviegoer with a dark sense of humor. With a title like God Bless America you might be expecting a Michael Moore film about the American views on religion, and while not completely off base I assure you this movie is much better than a Moore documentary. Dont get me wrong, I like Mr. Moore, but his stuff is an attempt at enlightened shock factors whereas God Bless America is a flick more along the lines of cheeky Bonnie and Clyde against our ever more idiotic society here in the good old U.S. of A.

“Must” is part of a collection of articles at GTMAM honoring the Must Play games, the Must See movies and shows as well as the Must Hear music. The hope is that these posts will introduce readers to new things that we feel everyone should know about.

IGN - God Bless America Blu-ray Review

IGN - It's a shame when a passion project like writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait's God Bless America opens to mixed emotions from audiences and critics alike – and not always in the polarizing way the film intends.
