HBO Renews Game of Thrones for Third Season

Coming Soon says

HBO has renewed "Game of Thrones" for a third season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.

"Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season - and then surpassed them," said Lombardo. "We are thrilled by all the viewer and media support we've received for the series, and can't wait to see what Dan and David have in store for next season."

I just got season 1 and have only made it through 3 episodes and I love it. I'm very excited that it's getting a 3rd season.

its starting to sound like a good show, i dont have hbo and i dont want to go through the pain of finding it online like i did with true blood for each new episode release on tv

so i ask you this if i may, is there any fair comparison to this show so i can get an idea of what its like?

Uhmmm...well I'm really only a few episodes in but I guess I would have to say it's got that Lord of the Rings type feel(but it's actually entertaining) to it mixed with the corruption and collusion of Spartacus. I really don't know if that's even a very good generalization.

thats what i thought with lord of the rings too and the shot of that guy who was with the fellowship of the rings gave off that lord of the rings feel to it

i wasnt sure if it was the way the picture was shot or the person himself
