A Dangerous Method is an intelligent, beautifully acted exploration into the relationship between the godfathers of psychiatry that features David Cronenberg at his most welcomely restrained.
Movies Hate You Too writes:
After several packed and expensive weeks of Blu-ray releases we've finally hit a slow patch. This week offers up several critically acclaimed films, another season of one of the funniest shows of all time, a recently deceased crackhead classic, and a film that David Cross described as "the most unpleasant experience I've ever had in my professional life."
The talky emphasis may alienate, but Cronenberg’s psychoanalysis session offers wry writing, elegant direction and fine leads.
Scene.is: "As the film develops the relationship between these characters quickly change and are split and shattered causing a great effect on modern psychology. In many of the scenes there are fine details and effects that draw you in to how the characters differ from one another, as well as revealing more about what is within each character. There is a great deal of action in this film but do not wait for it to jump out at you. Expect to put your mind at work for this film, then you will enjoy the rewards as there are many of rich quality."
