Lionsgate to Reboot Leprechaun

Leprechaun is headed back to the big screen. Variety reports that the 1993 original is aimed for a reboot.

Warwick Davis starred in the original six-film horror franchise (Leprechaun 1 - 3, Leprechaun 4: In Space, Leprechaun 5: In the Hood and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood) as the devious creature of Irish legend.

No writer, director or cast have been announced yet, but the plan is to target a 2013 release.

The first film, directed by Mark Jones, is also famous for launching the film career of Jennifer Aniston.

It could be good, but based on other horror remakes, it probably won't be.

its either they reboot a franchise or convert it to 3D and milk the audience money once again. i dont know if this movie will still work with audience nowadays because it might have worked in the 80's and early 90's but this movie is comedic enough and horror movies now are serious and gory. and besides the concept of leperchaun is predictable and a bit shallow. i saw the first movie and it was mediocre with small laughs and thrills but the succeeding sequels went from bad to worst and the longer the series go the worst it gets.
