March 9th sees the release of Silent House, a new thriller starring Elizabeth Olsen that she shot shortly after wrapping principal photography on Martha Marcy May Marlene. Shock Till You Drop has an exclusive clip to share inside which finds Olsen's character, Sarah, getting spooked with a classic scare effect.
Directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau - the team behind Open Water - the film is a remake of La Casa Muda and concerns a young woman who joins her father and uncle at a summer home to clean the place up. This endeavor descends into a night of terror for Sarah as strange noises and a mysterious figure begin to haunt her.
The film is inspired by a true story - an unsolved murder case that happened in a village in Uruguay in which three bodies were discovered mutilated.
I'm curious to see this for a number of reasons. It sounds interesting. It will give us another look at Elizabeth Olsen, see how she does. And I'll be curious to see how the directors of Open Water have evolved. Plus, just the fact that this whole movie is shot in one long continuous take intrigues me. I also want to see the original for that reason.
