Over the course of 2011 we were subjected to some pretty traumatic experiences – the Kardashians, the earthquake in Japan, Snooki’s book and Instagram. There were also some highlights like recovering from the recession, the Ford Mustang GT, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the end of Osama bin Laden and Harold Camping’s Rapture. Many people are saying that 2011 was a benchmark year with tons of important things going on, the kind of year where you sit back and say, “Yeah, I was there in 2011”.
But, movies are what we really care about, so if we’re truly going to measure the success of the past year and gauge our expectations for 2012, then we aught to take a moment to see just how well Hollywood managed to entertain us.
Fight For Paradise Review: This reality show is nothing new but there are so many uncomfortable moments that will definitely give you the ick.
Bros Review: The series, as the title suggests, is about two adult men who want to behave like children and we are not here for that.
Going Home With Tyler Cameron Review: This is a simple, no-nonsense but cliched watch, with Cameron's boyish charms taking centre stage.
Seriously? The 3 best movies of 2011 are A Separation, X-Men: First Class and....I AM NUMBER FOUR?! You gotta be kidding me.
Then the 3 worst movies of the year are Red Riding Hood, Captain America and Sucker Punch?
Seriously, this list fails on just about every level. Sorry, I just can never trust anybody's judgment that calls I Am Number Four one of the top 3 best movies of the year. Not that it was bad, just....seriously? Top 3? And then calls Sucker Punch one of the 3 worst of the year? Along with Captain America (which is highly overrated but not at all the worst).
