IGN - Not since the return of Rambo in 2008 has an action film so gleefully celebrated the bodily destruction of dozens upon dozens of its characters in such an incredibly stylish and entertaining manner. Headshots, stabbings, beatings and other forms of maiming are all par for the course in The Raid, and I'm not even a little bit ashamed to say that during all of this onscreen brutality, the grin that was plastered over my face only ever left so that my jaw could drop at some of the film's more audacious acts of violence. Without going into too much detail, you probably won't look at a fluorescent light tube in the same way again.
Ten years later and Gareth Evans' Indonesian martial arts film continues to be a benchmark for modern action cinema.
