Johnny Lee Miller To Play Sherlock Holmes In CBS Pilot 'Elementary'

CBS’s Sherlock Holmes reboot Elementary has solved its first big mystery — who will play the famous detective. Former Eli Stone star Jonny Lee Miller has been tapped as the lead of the project, a modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes who now lives in New York City. Robert Doherty wrote the script and is executive producing the CSB TV Studios pilot with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. Michael Cuesta is on board to direct.

I'm glad they're bringing in a Sherlock series but I'm not sure he can pass as Sherlock...I like him but he's going to have to do a lot of convincing.

There's NO way he pulls it off. I don't have anything against him, but he's only mediocre and he doesn't at all have that Sherlock vibe. There's just no way he'll pull it off. He'll completely butcher it and come off as some cheesy, watered-down version.

I guess that's what I was thinking in some way because he doesn't fit the bill. When you think of Sherlock Holmes...his demeanor, his size, not to mention his accent and everything else about him....this is just not the man for it.

I'm in agreeance here. I will give it a chance but I don't have high hopes.
