Max and Tom Squared:
There is a definite trend in Hollywood, and Uwe Boll, to see money signs with film adaptations of video games, whether they are faithful retellings or new additions to the lore. As a gamer, it is exciting to see the medium I love cross over into another. There is still a misconception that video games are an immature form of entertainment, reserved only for young children and at a certain age you should ‘grow up’ and stop playing them. So if a movie can get non-gamers to think ‘that was a good film, I might try the games out’ it can only be a good thing for the industry. The bad news is, a lot of these films are not very good. Take the above mention of Uwe Boll. While I applaud his efforts to make films based on video games, the results are awful, but every now and then a decent film comes along and slightly raises the credibility of the video game films. Below is my top 5 list of the best films based on a video game.
Plenty of great actors have ended up in bad movies, but they certainly didn't let that ruin a great performance. Here are 15 actors who saved terrible movies.
