Cal (Steve Carell) a middle aged father whose just been dumped by his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore) and gets scouted by a barhound and cereal womaniser Jacob (Ryan Gosling) into revamping his image and boost his confidence after the split. Sounds pretty standard, the difference here is there is in fact 2 main stories that intertwine. A bit Love Actually-esque but with good actors.
