'The Hunger Games' Will Get a One-Week IMAX Run

The Collider:
I’ve always said that IMAX is the best way to view movies where kids fight to the death. Sadly, there’s no Battle Royale IMAX in the works, so I guess we’ll settle with Gary Ross’ adaptation of The Hunger Games. In addition to the film’s wide release on March 23rd, the film will also begin a one-week IMAX run on the same day. I have no idea if the scope of The Hunger Games is worth an IMAX release, but I’d rather see movies converted into that format than into 3D.

Hit the jump to check out the press release and the latest trailer. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Lenny Kravitz.

I don't normally go see my movies in IMAX but I'm so hyped about this movie that I may just try seeing this one in the IMAX theater. Then I'll go see it in a regular one.

does this IMAX theatre make the movie special or something? i personally never been to one before

alycakes4466d ago

My friends say it does. It's able to show the movies in larger size and greater resolution than a regular theater and a lot of people love it but I've never been either.

ah ic well that makes sense one time at cineplex i forgot which movie it was i notice it looked too good then i later found out it was digital so it explained the cleaner look that i bothered to notice

An IMAX theater is rediculously loud, that's pretty mch the main difference at least for md

Yes, I really would like to go just once but never have. I might enjoy this movie but I would still have to go see it regular also.
