The Film Stage:
Variety reports that GK Films and Infinitum Nihil (Johnny Depp‘s production company, for those not “in the know”) have banded together to acquire Desperate Hours, a Western screenplay written by E. Nicholas Mariani. The script, said to have similarities to the genre classic High Noon, follows a widowed rancher who, along with his neighbors, takes on big bad mobsters from the East looking to take down their little town and pick up a mysterious girl.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
I had no idea he had his own production company and if you read on that he and gk also co produced Hugo and other very fine films. You learn something new every day.
I think a good western every year is a good thing. I loved True Grit when it came out and 3:10 to Yuma was great then of course not necessarily a true western but Cowboys and Aliens wasn't bad either.
If they make a western like the old Desperate Hours if it's the one I remember then it's a good thing.
