L.A.Times:
Like a mid-season coaching hire for a losing ballclub, director Bennett Miller inherited an uphill battle when he was brought in as the director of a shaky project called "Moneyball," but he had two key players on his side — and both of them were named Brad Pitt.
With its half-dozen Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations, "Moneyball" is now viewed as a quality contender in the Oscar nomination race, but the sports-film-with-a-message was clearly a longshot project back when Miller stepped in following the summer 2009 departure of Steven Soderbergh, who had spent years developing the script.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
I really hope Moneyball wins some kind of award. I think it was one of the best movies last year and I'm not even a sports fan...I do like baseball though.
As for World War Z...I had no idea it could be a trilogy. I haven't even started on the book. Everybody seems to be into zombie movies these days so I'm sure it will do well at the box office but I didn't think it would end up like Resident Evil and come back with a second and a third.
