Bridesmaids was my favorite comedy of 2011.

Unfortunately, I found the film to be the biggest movie disappointment of the year. I had such high expectations for the film but found myself on several occasions, if not for the majority of the film, bored. It puzzles me how there are a number of comedies of which are absolutely hilarious, well written, acted and such that are reviewed poorly, yet Bridemaids, whilst featuring fantastic acting (except for Matt Lucas), wasn't engaging or entertaining enough considering it's genre.

Now, I'm completely aware that my opinion is solely that, and I doubt the film is targeted at my age and sex (18, Male), but I personally think it was a poor decision to allow Kristen Wiig to act as both Co-writer and lead actress, it seemed as though she insisted on more screen time, only to not have enough material to stretch over that time.

I kind of agree. It sounds like I enjoyed it more than you but I felt like there was something missing from it. There were some funny f*ckin scenes and the acting was really good, but there was something missing that I can't place my finger on.
