Collider’s 15 Most Anticipated Blockbusters of 2012

The Collider:
As 2011 comes to a close, it’s time to look forward to the movies set to open in 2012. While many are busy compiling their Top 10 lists from 2011, we thought it’d be a good time to run down the list of our 15 most anticipated blockbusters of the coming year. Will The Avengers deliver as the culmination of four years worth of Marvel movies? Just how much of a prequel to Alien is Prometheus? Will The Dark Knight Rises be the greatest movie ever made in the history of movies and awesomeness? There are a lot of unknowns, and we’ve learned that sometimes the best behind-the-scenes talent can still make a stinker (Cowboys & Aliens), but we’re hoping for more than a few pleasant surprises (a la X-Men: First Class) to appease us in 2012. Hit the jump to check out our list.

Am I the only one who thinks the Bourne movies are...boring?

alycakes4497d ago

Maybe so because most people including myself liked them a lot. They made a lot of money at the box office and also in sales of their blu-rays and dvds and trilogy sets. I still can sit and watch them if I wait about a year...I can sit and watch all 3 one right after the other.

I don't really know what to expect from this new one but Matt Damon was great in the others...hopefully Jeremy Renner will also do alright in his.

LettingGo4497d ago

Why does everyone like them though? He gets caught. He punches them. He escapes.

Rinse. Repeat.

For two hours. -_-

and The Lord of the Rings was just people walking to a volcano for 12 hours. totally boring

Lord_Sloth4497d ago

The same generalization could be made with any movie, really. I like them because they entertain me and that's all I can really say about it.

LettingGo4497d ago

Ugh. You're one of THOSE guys. No. The generalization was just a shortened version of my gripes. It's just plain boring. The dialogue doesn't carry it because it's simply not there. The action, especially the car chases, are nothing special.

Lord_Sloth4497d ago

*sighs*

You asked the question, and I have give you the best answer that I can. No need to insult me about it.

If I HAD to pick a reason (though I want to just say STFU, walk off a cliff, and not answer, I'm better than that) I would say it's because I'm a martial artist and gun lover and I enjoy watching the motions of combat. I analyze tactics used, motions, what's practical and what's for show.

The story is bearable and the combat is pretty efficient for the most part which you don't see often in movies about spies. Typically the combat tries to be fancy with very little focus on crushing that larynx which is a great strategy.

Now, I am memorizing your name and will make a note not to fulfill any requests made by you in the future. Good day.

alycakes4496d ago

Agreed...but I even liked the storyline. I happen to like stories about brainwashing, government conspiracies, spies and all the action and shoot'em up that goes along with it.

aDDicteD4497d ago

cant wait. ill watch them all in theaters

pomoluese4496d ago

There are a lot of films I'm excited to see. Hopefully they don't disappoint, then again if some of them are failures I guess I'll save money not going to the theatres.
