IGN - The episode, a Heart of Darkness-like documentary, may not have been the generic crowd pleaser that might have garnered higher ratings elsewhere, but it was smartly put together and extremely funny. The inclusion of former Greendale student Luis Guzman was great. "I loved you in… IMDB." I also loved the brief cameo from Jeff Garlin in the episode's tag. The way the commercial became a bigger and bigger ordeal throughout the episode was displayed brilliantly through the characters, but also through the background activity, costumes, lighting and overall tone of the half hour. This may have been the kind of episode NBC needed to prove the show is too different to make it on their schedule, but it was also the kind of episode needed to prove how great this series actually is.
