The Aaron Eckhart starring “Pan”, a twist on J.B Barrie’s guy-in-green-skirt yarn from our childhood, is about to get underway at long last. Y’all know of this one, right? It’s based on a terrific little script by Benjamin Magid that places the characters from Peter Pan in modern-day USA. Eckhart is Captain Hook and Sean Bean is Smee, cop buddies on the hunt for a nutty killer, Pan. AnnaSophia Robb is playing Wendy, a young girl who escaped the clutches of Pen and teams with the police force to help catch him.
Warner Bros. may not be directly adapting the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage show, but some casting news indicates they may use its characters.

Rather than just giving us a live action remake of Peter Pan, like PJ Hogan’s 2003 version, PAN instead imagines a new origin story that takes us to before Peter became Pan, before Hook became a villain, and when the true pirate was Blackbeard. The set and character design of Pan are designed to launch this film as a cinematic universe that could tell countless stories.
GMD: We all know of a story about a boy who never wanted to grow up, but director Joe Wright’s take on this beautifully-screened production was one never seen before. We’ve been bombarded with Peter Pan stories throughout the years such as Steven Spielberg’s Hook, P.J Hogan’s Peter Pan, and Marc Forster’s Finding Neverland, but none show the same inspiring interpretation as this prequel.
