Deadline says:
The hottest biopic in Hollywood right now has to be based on former Time magazine top editor Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Steve Jobs being published by Simon & Schuster on November 21st. Given the TV and movie industry’s past and present penchant for making entertainment out of people’s lives, it won’t be long before the book is made into a film.
Christian Bale is reportedly all set to take-on the role of another American icon (after Batman, of course). The Welsh heartthrob has reportedly signed on to play Apple Founder Steve Jobs in a yet to-be-titled biopic helmed by none other than ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ director Danny Boyle.
THR:
Leonardo DiCaprio will not be tackling the role of Steve Jobs.
The actor, who had been in talks with Sony to tackle the late Apple Computer co-founder for director Danny Boyle, has bowed out to instead shoot The Revenant. But instead of making the untitled Jobs project right after, as had been hoped, DiCaprio has removed himself from the project altogether. Sources say after DiCaprio finishes The Revenant, which began shooting this week, he plans to take a lengthy break from acting.
How many Steve Jobs movies do we honestly need.... geez when Bill Gates passes we will probably get 24/7 Gates movies.....
Christian Bale looks like a young Steve Jobs.
But I dont see the need for another film. iPhones are a bane on humanity.
For some reason I actually think Kutcher will do Steve’s legacy justice even if it hurts me inside to type that. He did almost die by trying to diet like Steve during filming, so I guess there’s that. You can check out the official Instagram trailer after the break.
Oh yea, I'm sure this will get optioned soon enough. Especially given the success of Social Network.
